The film sound is composed by the Norwegian composer and musician Geir Jenssen, better known as "Biosphere".

What is a Subharchord?

In the early 1960s, Oskar Sala produces the soundtrack to “The Birds” (Alfred Hitchcock, 1963) on a “Trautonium” in West Berlin. It has its name after developer Friedrich Trautwein and can make subharmonic sounds.
Just a few kilometers away, in East Berlin, technicians, engineers, musicologists and composers are working on a sound generator what can make even better subharmonic sounds - the Subharchord.
